Dogs Used to Smell COVID-19
In Helsinki, dogs are being used to smell if a person has COVID-19. At the airport, people arriving from overseas, swipe their skin with a small wipe and then drop it in a cup, then the dogs come to smell it and can find out whether a person has coronavirus or not. A dog requires 10-18 molecules to identify the virus and a lab test requires 18 million molecules to be precise.
The pilot started on September 22nd, 2020.
